Over the last 40 years, our focus has been on developing Urethane tooling and custom radius bending pads for sheet metal bending / forming and has resulted in thousands of successful applications.
Perforated lighting covers are formed with custom steel punch using urethane SMART PAD. Our customer has been using this tooling for over 10 years, in 3 different plants.
We have produced many sets of custom tooling for producing Radius shapes in perforated sheet metal. Bending across perforated sheet metal without kinking or flattening in weak spots is possible only with Urethane Tooling. Such an example of this is the muffler guards for trucks, corner posts for semi-truck trailers and many more.
We have made many Radius punches 12' long for this customer, making stainless steel U-TROUGHS in 1/8' to 1/4" thick, using the same bottom die. Parts are formed in 3-5 hits , to produce consistent high quality bends taking a fraction of the time as compared to 37-45 bumping hits that were required to make these parts before, on a CNC Press Brake that used to produce ugly bump lines.
