SMARTER
Press Brake Tooling for MAR-FREE Radius Bends
Urethane Bull-Nose
Bend Die For MAR-FREE bending
of edges of shelves/counter-tops etc.
Forming a 180
degree bull-nose is one of the most challenging bends.
Because of the geometry of the bend, the sheet metal has to
bend up, at least 90 degrees, and if the part is longer than
the punch height, it will hit the ram. This, combined with the
spring-back of the sheet metal makes it necessary to make the
bend in 2 or more hits .s
PAR pads
are designed to form approximately 100 degree arc in the first
hit.
By moving the blank forward, and positioning it to have about
a 10 degree over-lap with the previous hit, a perfect blend
between hits can be made without any bend lines.

European
Style POLY-DIES
Unique
Design : No need for retainer. The molded 60
mm wide tang enables direct installation on European Style
machines.
Less
Tonnage: The relief hole is molded through the
full length of the pad, thus reducing the tonnage required
to make a given bend.
Versatility:
Different types of Pads are available.
POD
type pads are designed for Sharp V-Bends, as well as radius
V-bends or for bump forming any radius shape of up to
2" R.
PUD
type pads have a molded U-shaped groove on the top surface,
with radius equal to the outside radius of the part being
bent.
Spring-back allowance must be made in determining the
size of the punch.
For one-hit U-bends, overbend of upto 20 degrees is possible.

PAR type
pads are designed to form ARCS of different Radii and
included angles. To avoid the blank from excessive whip-up
or hitting the ram, bump-form consecutive hits, with about
10 degrees overlap between hits.
By using PAR type pad, it may take 2 or more hits to form
a 180 degree U-shape, depending on the spring-back of
the metal.
