    This photo illustrates the versatility of this unique RADIUS BENDING SYSTEM. We are using 5 different punches from 3/4"R to 8"R to bend 10Ga. Polished Aluminum into 5 different radii, using the same bottom die...SMP-1240.

    With our unique facility, we can design & make custom steel punches up to 30Ft. in length, and try them on a 400 ton press brake to make sure that the punches perform with the right spring-back.


    Product Features

    point A versatile tooling system that is a result of our 3 decades experience in the ELASTOMER TOOLING technology area.

    point The pad is designed to exert infinitely variable (adjustable) forming pressures. This is achieved by molding a series of holes symmetrically for the full length of the pad. These holes are sized and located to minimize stress in the pad.

    point With all of the 9 holes left open, the pad exerts the least amount of forming pressure. This will enable the forming of the largest radiused shape, that the pad is designed to form.

    point By adjusting the forming pressures by inserts, any radius in between the maximum and the minimum recommended radii can be formed.

    point By inserting the round rods of the same hardness as the main pad, symmetrically in pairs, in the outer holes, the active deflectable volume is reduced. This will enable tighter bends on smaller size punches.

    point The holes can be filled with tubes, that will exert lesser pressures than solid rod inserts. These inserts can be of softer or harder grades or Rods or tubes, thus providing an infinite variety of pressures.

    point This process of filling holes can continue inwards, to increase forming pressures. By leaving only one hole in the top row open, a 90º radius bend of 1" can be formed, and by leaving all holes open, a 4" radius 90º bend can be made.

    point Virtually any radius punch can be used to form into this pad, as long as the total width of punch penetration does not exceed 8" and the depth of penetration does not exceed 4".

    point The SMP-1240 Pad is designed to fit in a standard SHIP & CAR steel C-channel ( 13" x 50 Lbs/Ft). The 2 deflector bars below the Pad are made of hard Urethane (Part No. DB-225 are required for the proper functioning of this system)

    Designed to bend any radius from 1" to 4", up to 90º, or Bump form any radius. Pads are available in :
    BLUE-35% deflection(70A);
    GREEN-30% diflection (80A)
    RED-25% deflection (90A);
    AMBER-15% deflection(95A)

    Designed to bend any radius from 1/2" to 2", up to 90º in one hit, or Bump form any radius.

    point SMP-620 is designed to fit in a standard SHIP & CAR Steel C-channel (7" x 22.7 Lbs/ft) The deflector bar below the Pad is a molded Urethane Pad (Part No. DP-615), that is required for the proper functioning of this system

    Limitations:
    • Minimum punch radius = 1/2":
    • Minimum Punch Width = 1-1/2";
    • Maximum width of Punch Penetration = 3";
    • Maximum depth of penetration = 1-1/4".
    • Bending Capacity: maximum Gauge: 10 Ga M.S. Minimum distance to start of radius bend = 1".
