New generation
of radius forming pads engineered for forming radius U-bends
in a single hit. |
|
Molded special contour
of pads enable overbends of up to 20° past the 180°,
in U-bends. |
|
Precise, mar-free U-bends
at a fraction of the cost of steel tooling. Steel Rocker
Dies can cost up to 10 times. |
|
Radius U-Bends are
by far one of the most difficult types of bends on a press
brake. |
|
The special shape of
the top surface of the pad is designed to overbend the
part by as much as 20°. |
|
In MS and softer grades
of aluminum and stainless steel, it is possible to bend
a radius U-bend in one hit. In harder grades, it may be
necessary to do this in 2 or more hits. |
|
These pads are designed
to fit inside steel channel retainers, with deflector
pads underneath them. |
|
The side pressures
for overbending beyond the 180° of the U-shape are
exerted by the projecting shapes of the pads. |
|
The same channel retainer
is designed for both the radius U-form pads as well as
flat pads, and smart pads that can be used for bump- forming
larger radii. |
|
Caution:
The full bottom width of the retainer must be supported. |
