Diethane is a trade name for a family of urathane elastomers developed specificaly for sheet metal fabricating & tooling applications.

Die-Thane tooling systems is the result of our over 3 decades of experience in the ELASTOMER TOOLING technology area.
As the only manufacturer of both urethane and steel press brake tooling in the world, we have unique facilities to design and manufacture standard and custom tooling
The Smart Choice
Die-Thane is the trade name for a family of high performance urethane elastomers developed specifically for sheet metal fabricating and tooling applications.
Die-Thane Tooling is Ideal for J.I.T. Manufacturing
Decreasing lot sizes and lead times combined with increased demands on improved quality and on-time delivery are the essential ingredients of J.T.T. Die-Thane Tooling is the smart alternative to achieve these goals.
Die-Thanes are a special breed of high performance thermo-set elastomers, compounded specifically for sheet metal forming applications.
Die-Thanes are Characterized by:
- Extra toughness and durability
- Excellent Resilience
- Very High Load Bearing Capacity
- High Tear Strength and Cut Resistance
- Low Compression set
- Very Good Impact Resistance
- Outstanding Abrasion Resistance
- Good Machinability
- Impervious To Oil and Ozone
Die-Thane elastomers have a unique combination of all of the above
engineering properties in the same material.
Die-Thanes - High Performance Elastomers
For demanding applications such as Press Brake tooling, Die Springs etc., specifying a compound by durometer is not appropriate. It should be based on the amount of deflection. For this reason, our compounds are designed by the Maximum allowable deflection.
Die-Thane Tooling's are available in 6 color-coded grades
| DT - 5 |
5% deflection, Hard, 75D Black |
| DT - 15 |
15% deflection, Medium hard, 95A Amber |
| DT - 25 |
25% deflection, medium, 90A Red |
| DT - 35 |
35% deflection, soft, 80A Green |
| DT - 40 |
40% deflection, Medium soft, 70A Blue, hard as natural rubber |
| DT - 45 |
45% deflection, very soft, 60A yellow |
